About Ashley D. Mersereau, DVM.

 
Dr. Ashley Mersereau earned both her undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS! - the only canine reference you will ever hear from us). In vet school she met her wonderful husband, Dr. David Mersereau, and together they started a wonderful life. At first the Mersereau house was filled with only furry family members, but soon, they both realized that would not be enough. After founding Cat Clinic of Fernandina, they were able to add two beautiful daughters into the mix. Emory and Lainey both spent the first several months of their lives here at the clinic and are now frequent visitors helping to take care of boarding cats and healing the injured kitties with love. When we say it is a family oriented clinic, we mean it!

Dr. Mersereau often gets asked why she went into cat only medicine. The answer is simple... she loves cats... and their owners. She adopted her first cat at the age of fifteen and has been hooked ever since. For those of you who have cats, you understand that they are not small dogs. They are captivating and unique animals which require a special, understanding manner (one that Dr. Mersereau has certainly perfected). Having a cat only clinic provides a quiet, calming atmosphere where patients can be examined without them or their owners feeling rushed. Since Cat Clinic of Fernandina is feline-focused, we are able to better tailor all of our protocols such as vaccines, diagnostics, and treatment plans to what our patients need and what will work best for the family members.
